Vegan Celebrities Show The Way

Vegan Celebrities Show The Way

Moby Vegan Advocate

Moby

One of the most high-profile vegan celebrities, musician and animal advocate Moby has been vegan since 1987. He first eliminated meat after a powerful emotional connection with his beloved pet cat, Tucker.

Moby explained to Rolling Stone that he would “do anything to protect him and make him happy,” realizing that animals— like Tucker—have “amazing brains and incredibly rich emotional lives.”

This sparked his epiphany: “I would never in a trillion years think of hurting this cat. So why am I eating other animals?”

In 1987, he gave up all animal products entirely and became a dedicated vegan. More recently, he delivered a TEDx Talk titled “Why I’m A Vegan”, exploring the cognitive dissonance behind eating animals.

Rainn Wilson Vegan Advocate

Rainn Wilson

Far from the meat-loving Dwight Schrute he portrayed on The Office, actor Rainn Wilson is an animal-loving vegan.

During a 2017 appearance on Conan, Wilson revealed that his rescue pigs inspired his transformation. While eating breakfast, he realized he loved his pigs—Snortington and Amy—more than bacon, and decided to go vegan.

“I was eating bacon and looking at these adorable little pigs,” he told Conan O’Brien—and had an instant revelation.

Calling himself “The Fifty Year Old Vegan”, Wilson shared on Instagram that he now enjoys better sleep, more energy, and improved overall health thanks to his plant-based lifestyle.
